The long-awaited Tchaikovsky Gala and the premiere of "Undina": December 23, 19.00.

"Undina" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky is the premiere of a concert performance at the National Opera of Ukraine and the first performance of the opera in Ukraine.

On December 23, a large-scale project will finally take place on our stage, which was postponed three times due to quarantine circumstances. The program of the Tchaikovsky Gala concert dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the brilliant composer contains excerpts from works not included in the theater's repertoire: "The Maid of Orleans", "The Queen of Spades", and the overture-fantasy "Romeo and Juliet".

The Tchaikovsky Gala will open with the premiere of the second opera by Pyotr Ilyich, which was never destined to see the light of the stage. "This opera survived only in fragments, as most of it was destroyed by Tchaikovsky himself. Until 2014, this work was not performed at all in the world. In Kyiv, it will be performed for the first time on the stage of the National Opera of Ukraine in a concert performance. The beauty of Undina's melodies will surprise both music lovers and professional musicians, since now they will know the source of Tchaikovsky's well-known hits, says the theater's chief stage director Anatoliy Solovianenko. The main roles will be performed by our leading soloists Oksana Kramarieva and Valentyn Dytiuk. The author's text will be read by Yevhen Nyshchuk.
